Privacy Policy

Fables is built to respect your privacy. The app does not require an account, does not track you, and does not send your personal data to us or anyone else.

The short version: Your step and motion data stays on your device. Purchases are handled by Apple. We don't run analytics, we don't show ads, and we have no servers that store information about you.

Who we are

Fables is an Apple Watch and iPhone app published by Studio Ayumi ("we", "us"). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect

We have designed Fables to collect as little as possible. Specifically:

Step and motion data — Fables reads your step count from Apple's motion and fitness sensors (CoreMotion / pedometer) so that walking can unlock stories in the app. This data is read and used entirely on your device. It is never uploaded, transmitted to us, sold, or shared with third parties.
Purchases — If you buy the one-time unlock, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple handles your payment; we never see or store your name, card number, or other payment details. We only receive Apple's confirmation that a valid purchase exists so the app can unlock the relevant content.

Information we do not collect

No account, email, or password is required to use Fables.
No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included in the app.
No location data, contacts, photos, or browsing activity.
We do not maintain servers that store personal information about you.

How your data is used

The only motion data the app uses is your step count, and it is used solely to power the in-app step-unlock experience on your device. Because this information never leaves your device, we have no ability to access, analyse, or share it.

Apple Health & permissions

Fables asks for permission to read motion & fitness (step) data. You can review or revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness on your iPhone, or in the Watch app. Revoking access may disable the step-unlock feature but will not otherwise affect the app.

Children's privacy

Fables does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads and no data collection, and its content is suitable for general audiences.

Data retention & security

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to retain or expose. Purchase records are held by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page.
